Help!!!

When I go and start up my desktop computer it gets stuck on a black screen
and says that winnt/system32/confif/system is either missing or corrupt, then
it says to put the operating cd in and try to repair it. Not sure what to do
after that. I don't want to loose anything because I haven't backed-up
anything in awhile. What do i do. Please Help

You need to get into the habit of backing up regularly.
