HELP!!!!!

P

Paul Smith

Hello

I hope there is someone out there who can help me.

I am setting up a site tat is essentially a portal offering memberships (of
different levels) to potential clients. One of these membership levels is
for a subsite. This is great and works fine in FP but our server does not
seem to support the subsite facility giving an error that I don't have the
right permissions to do what I want to do when publishing. It publishes the
rest of the site but not the subsite. Our hosting company are "tits on a
bull" (sorry kiwi expression) when trying to get an answer on this.

I know my alternative is to just have a sub folder but I cant get it to work
the way I want. The corporate presence site template gives me exactly what
I want for the subsites but i am buggered if I can work out how it is done
at page level.

It does not seem to use frames or tables so how are the "regions" set
up??????

Thanks in anticipation
Paul

Unless you web host allows you to create subwebs/subsites and/or set unique permissions on the
subwebs/subsites, you will not be able to use them.

The best you can do (other than getting a new host) is to find out what server side scripting they support (ASP or PHP or PERL) and
use that to manage the subfolder access

Thanks for your help.

It was more a workaround I was looking for to format my subwebs or
subfolders. I think I have found this with layout tables and will have a
play with this.

Cheers
Paul
