Hi,
Last night I left my PC with XP Pro (sp2 installed) running chkdsk. There
was no fault that I was aware of, it was run s part of my normal
maintainance. This morning I cannot access Windows, I get the screen telling
me that it was incorrectly shut down and I need to select blah, blah, blah.
Whatever I choose, last known good, normal or safe mode takes an absolute
age to load and after the win xp logo screen reboots.
I have tried to do a repair install but setup only gives the option of a
full install. The C: drive is shown as an "unknown" type.
I also tried "fixboot" in the repair console which recognised the drive
initially as "unknown" but after the disk scan recognised it as NTFS, the
correct type.
Anybody know how to get this back to normal?
Thanks
Tony
