Help with XP Registry - Please

Stephen

Hi

I am trying to manually remove an entry in my registry.

Norton is saying remove manually.

Adaware isn't helping.

I have already uninstalled via ADD/REMOVE.

Using RUN/REGEDIT

I have found the problem - and click to delete.
I then exit regedit but the problem has not deleted.

Left hand pane

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Right hand pane

[ab] Go!Zilla dial-up fix "C:\My Documents\GoZilla\Go.exe"/FIXRAS

How can I remove this entry permanently?

Thanks in advance - Stephen

There is either a buried registry reference that keeps readding that line to
your registry when you start Windows, or an executable file that runs every
time you start Windows. Delete that registry entry again, then go to Start,
Programs, Startup and delete any strange entries. Run AdAware again, then
reboot. If the registry line is there again, do an Internet search for
gozilla manual removal.

Hi Stephen,

Perhaps a program is adding it (GoZilla is still running?). Remove the entry from Safe Mode. If the entry is re-created, trace out which program is creating the entry, using RegMon from www.sysinternals.com
