Help with videocard choice please

Paul

I have a 3GHz P4 Dell with 2GB of DDR RAM that I'm about to reinstall XP on.

I have a choice of 2 video cards and can't find reviews that allow me to
compare what would be best. The only gaming that will done on this PC are
older games like Generals Zero Hour & RTCW ET.

The choices are:

ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB
NVIDIA Geforce 6800 256MB

Any help greatly appreciated.

The GF 6800 is the newer card. The reviews I saw all had it doing better
than the 9800 Pro. I have had several 9800 Pro fail on me but was always
able to RMA to ATI. You shold investigate the manufacturer for the 6800 card
to see what the warantee policy is. eVGA, BFG and XFX have a lifetime
warantee.

The 6800 should go better, so long as it's NOT an 'XT' or 'LE' varient.
Those are chopped off at the knees, are running only 8 pipes.
