Help with Quicklaunch problem

I cannot get my quicklaunch bar to show. I have followed instructions on
microsoft page to get it to re-appear but it does not show. I have Windows
XP. I did not do registry edits as that seems beyond my technical expertise
but I tried everything else they recommended. Any suggestions?

It's likely that you need to drag sideways on one of the vertical bars on
the taskbar. If no help, try unlocking the taskbar and put quick launch back
on.
