help with problem - automatically deleting e-mails, unexpectedly

Please Help. Suddent unexplained problem with in-box. my outlook 2002
started, all of a sudden, automatically deleting EACH e-mail after it is
viewed in the in-box (and then closed). disappears entirely - does not get
moved to the Deleted folder.

This is just happening all of a sudden, out of the clear blue !!!!!!!
 
It appears to me that you have set your view to display only unread
messages.
