help with partition

I have one 60GB Hard Drive, which was partitioned into a 15GB partition(C) and a 37GB partition(D). There is another partition, but it's being for backup purposes or something, i cant find it windows explorer, but i know it's there.
When I bought the PC it was supposed to have a 60GB hard drive, and Best Buy offered to install Windows XP for free (or something), and I said yes. They partitioned the drive (which i didn't want) and installed windows to the 15GB partition. I just want one giant partition.
Question: How do I blend the partitions into one 57GB volume, without Third-Party Software, and without re-installing Windows XP (because i have no CD for it)?

You can't! The only way to deal with partitions is either through
re-installing XP or using 3rd party software.

Cannot be done without third party software.

To combine partitions wihout loss of data, purchase Norton Partition Magic,
by Symantec. Information here:
http://www.symantec.com/partitionmagic/.

Friendly tip: Partition Magic is intended for advanced users. Read all the
directions very carefully, and have a complete backup before you start.

BTW: That hidden partition quite possibly contains the software needed to
reinstall Windows.
