Help with NUMBER format!!!

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to prevent Excel from converting the
value to the NUMBER format and to preserve it as TEXT?
For instance,
I receive the CSV file where I have the value for the
serial like 0000001233456 or 000213.
When opening the file in Excel the value is automatically
changed to 1233450 (please note, it also changes the last
digit to zero). Or often it just displayed as a scientific
format like 1.111E+15.

Does anyone know how to prevent Excel from doing so and
preserve the original format?

Hi
one workaround:
- save the *.csv file as *.txt file
- now then opened the import wizard starts and you can define this
column as 'Text'
