There is a tiny pin hole on the front of the device. This is the emergency
release. Power down your pc. Then Straighten out a large safety pin or
paperclip and shove it into the little hole as far as it can go. It will
push out the cd manually. Next, I would double check your
bios/cmos. When you powerup your computer you should get the option, at the
very beginning, to press either the f1, f2 or del key to access the cmos.
Press the appropriate key and keep it pressed as you push the power button to
turn on the pc. You will get the cmos settings. The initial screen will
have your drive configuration settings. Look at it and you should see your
hard drive, a cd or dvd device, the floppy device and maybe the time too.
Most cmos provide you to push the f3 key so that the cmos can automatically
search for these hardwares. If the cd or dvd doesn't show up on the list,
then you have problem with the physical hardware/drive. Save and exit your
cmos, go into windows and let us know what are your results........
