Help with Macro Error Message?

G

Guest

I cannot understand why I am getting an error 450 -- wrong number of
arguments or invalid property assignment -- in this macro where the table is
being created in Word. When i run just that section in Word, it seems to
work fine.

I would greatly appreciate help in figuring this out.

thanks
george

When run in word, word understands all the object belong to word.

when run from Excel, it may not know they are word objects, properties,
methods, particularly where there might be duplicate objects names.

Try qualifying you word objects to increase clarity.

Hello George
Although you do not mention where precisely the error occurs, I would
suspect that since your are using methods from the Word Application in your
Excel code, somewhere in your code (where the error raises), the "owner
application" is wrong.
So IMO, you need to make sure every function, property, method is clearly
identified with its source program or object.

Tom.

Thanks.

I changed it to:

..Tables.Add Range:=Word.Selection.Range, NumRows:=1, NumColumns:=2, _
' DefaultTableBehavior:=wdWord9TableBehavior,
AutoFitBehavior:=wdAutoFitFixed

and that worked.

Appreciate the pointer.

take care
george
