Help with IRQs...

I am using XP pro and installed it with ACPI enabled. I have a sound card
and another audio - related PCI card. When I go ito device manager and look
at IRQs, it shows no IRQs between 2 and 7. It goes from 1 to 8. I always
thought IRQs 2 thru 7 would be assigned before higher ones. Any idea what is
happening here?

I would suspect it's like Com ports, once used, even if
the device is removed the IRQ will still be held and not
be available. With com ports you have force it's use then
un-install it so it will be available.

When you install something it is automatically assigned
the first open port, but it goes to the higher # ( if
5,6,7 are open and 8,9 are (in use) it will assign port
10 you install something, thus the problem.
