Help with game for daughter

D

Donna

I have purchased the sims pack for my daughter and having
all kinds of problems trying to get it to play.
once loaded i got a message saying that i installed
another sims expansion pack after the deluxe pack and for
it to work properly the installer will now update it.

reason it saying this is cause I downloaded a expansion
to the other game, anyways after I hit ok i get another
message that says some files can harm your computer etc..
anyways I click open cause this is a disk and have no
worries about a virus. then nothing happens, this is
getting so frustrating can anyone give me any ideas or
help here. I updated my drivers and i am using windows XP

that you

Hi Donna,

Here's the official support information from EA Games. Hope is helps! :)

Sims Double Deluxe includes four CDs. These are The Sims Deluxe CD one and two, The Sims House Party, and The Sims Double Deluxe
Bonus Material. If you have only The Sims Double Deluxe installed, the CD you will use to play the game is The Sims Deluxe CD one.
If you follow the proper install order included in The Sims Double Deluxe install guide, you will note that although you cannot play
The Sims House Party as a separate game, all features of this expansion will be available during gameplay.

For information regarding proper installation of this software, please see below:

1. Place The Sims Deluxe Edition CD one in your CD drive then click the Install button at the autorun menu. If you do not get an
autorun screen, please do the following:
- Click My Computer
- Right-Click the CD drive that contains the Deluxe Edition CD one
- Left-Click "Explore"
- Double-Click the yellow setup folder
- Double-Click "setup.exe"

2. Follow the on-screen instructions. At the prompt, remove CD 1 and insert CD 2. When prompted, place CD 1 back in the drive.

3. Once the Sims Deluxe Edition installation is complete, remove the CD from your drive, and insert The Sims House Party CD.

4. Click the Install button at the autorun menu.

5. Once the Sims House Party installation is complete, remove the CD from your drive. Do not attempt to play the game just yet.

6. Insert The Sims Double Deluxe Bonus Materials CD.

7. Click the Install button.

8. Click the Bonus Catalog Items button to install the bonus material.

9. Click the Install button.

10. Once the Bonus Material installation is complete, place Deluxe Edition CD 1 back into the drive.

11. Click "more information" at the autorun screen.

12. Click "reinstall Deluxe".

When the installation completes, all content from The Sims Deluxe (which includes Livin Large and The Sims), House Party, and The
Double Deluxe Edition Bonus Materials CD will be available. The Deluxe Edition CD 1 is the only CD you will need to play the game.
If you continue to receive an error to "Please insert the correct CD", please make sure The Sims Deluxe Edition CD 1 is in the
drive. This configuration will not work with The Sims House Party CD.

To verify The Sims House Party has been installed correctly, please follow the steps below:

1. Start the game using The Sims Deluxe CD one.
2. Load any pre-existing family. (The goth family is located on the top right-hand side of the screen).
3. Once the family is loaded, click the "Buy mode" button on the bottom of the screen.
4. Click the "electronics" menu option, which looks like a remote control.
5. Scroll to the very end of the menu choices. You should see a DJ booth as the last available object to purchase.

If you have this object, you have successfully installed The Sims House Party.
