I have a laptop and it "has had" Windows 98
to Windows Me, then went to Windows XP...
I no longer have any windows on my laptop
other than XP. How do I go about formatting
my computer using Windows 98 startup disk??
I keep getting errors.. I want to clear
my hard drive and start over? Thanks :o)

Simply boot to the floppy and type FORMAT C: You will loose everything on
the drive. If your drive is NTFS, you'll need to use FDISK first to delete
the NTFS partition and recreate a new partition. Then format.

You XP CD has the necessary tools to do both of the above. Just boot to the
CD.

Thanks for the information. However, is there some where
I can get a print out of how to do these steps as I'm new
at messing with NTFS and partitions? :o)

Rob, bye the way I tried using the my windows
98 startup disk and I got a message that said:
"NTLDR is missing" ??? Got me I don't even
know what that stands for, this confused even
more.. In need of help please... :o)

If you got an NTLDR error message then either your startup disk is corrupt
or your PC isn't configured to boot to floppy first.

March 7, 3004,
Rob: How do I configure to boot to my
Floppy FIRST then? I want to thank you
so much for helping me with this..
