A few weeks ago I downloaded the free trial of a program to convert music
files from one format to another. When I found that I no longer had any use
for it, I uninstalled and deleted it entirely. Unfortuneately, all of my
folders need to be opened by right clicking and going to Open. (Single/double
clicking does not bring about the proper result) This is because for some
reason this program has decided to make it so that whenever I open a folder
by simply double clicking it will ask if I want to burn/extract all of its
contents to said program. There are no traces of the program left so nothing
really happens when I do open a folder by simply double clicking (it just
comes up with a "choose a program to open this file with" pop up. This is
EXTREMELY annoying and I do not know how to fix it, perhaps someone more
computer literate could assist me. A reply or e-mail
([email protected]) is grealy appreciated. Thank you.

Picture of what happens(I whited out the useless information but you can
still see what happens):

It's where it says "Burn to an MP3/WMA with Easy CD-DA Extractor" in the bold

Give it a try and see if this help:

Quick fix
Click Start, Run and type this command:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

(Thanks to David Candy for this tip)

Manual registry fix
To fix the problem manually, open Registry Editor and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ shell

-and-

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Drive \ shell

In the right-pane, locate and click the (Default) value
Click Modify on the Edit menu
Type the word none in the Value data box, and then click OK
Exit Registry Editor.

Let us know!

Thank you so much that worked perfectly (I used the quick fix and it worked)
