Help with Error 404

Everytime I try to publish my web with fp xp, I get an
error that says "404 Not Found
Not Found The requested URL http:// was not found on
this server.

It tells me that it failed to publish the web and to
verify that the server has the extensions installed. They
do have the extensions installed, as I checked. I don't
understand what is going on.

Any input is appreciated.

Make sure you are using File Publish from the menu and entering the URL correctly as
http://www.yoursite.com/

and make sure the web is open, not just the file.
