I get the message: Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

So I followed the instructions in this article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307545

I inserted the Windows XP CD-ROM but when the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, and i press R to start the Recovery Console, I get the following:

The path or file specified is not valid C:\>

Can anyone suggest what I should do next? many thanks.
