Help - Windows Media Player in Vista

User66

In Windows XP, I can select the type of files, such as mp3 or wav,
I want to play using 'Windows Media Player'. How do I select or
un-select to play the type of media files while I am running
Windows Vista? I don't see any 'File Types' in Tools, Options....,
in Windows Media Player running in Vista.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

There is no in-depth file types utility in Vista like there was in previous
versions of Windows. However, if you go to the Control Panel/Default
Programs, there is a link to associate a file type with a program. Also,
many media players (WMP included) also have settings within their
options/preferences to set them as the default player for certain file
types.
