Hello

I have 2 computers with little hardware diferences.

The computer B has start up problems - now I think it has maintenance
problems.

In order to check, I took my HD (from computer A) and install it in the
computer B.

I tried to turn it on three times: no result.

When I return the HD to computer A (original hardware) I can't initialize
it.

I always return to the screen asking last configuration, pompt mode, secure
mode...but I have no success.

The screen shows the initial Windows logo running, then the cursor goes to
the top left, and then, a couple of minutes later, reinitialize the
computer.

And so ON.

What do I have to do to fix it?

Thank you for your help.

Moving a hard drive with XP installed from one computer to another will need
at the minimum a repair install on the new computer to work properly. You
can't just switch drives and use that for diagnostic purposes. Now that
trying to boot the first hard drive in the second computer has caused a
problem you'll need to do a repair install on the first computer with it's
normal drive, and hopefully that will get things right again.

Thank you.

Your site was very usefull.

I recovered one HD without a problem. With the second one, I had some
additional work, but I didn't lose so much.
