help...when I turn on my computer

Help, when I turn on my computer I must hit f1 to complete the operation. It
says it doesn't find hard drive 1. When I try to run systemworks fix scans
it doesn't scan drive 1. Now, when I go into windows explorer some folders
are blue and some folders are labels with black.

what is going on?

In XP a blue folder has been compressed.

Are you booting from drive 1 or another drive?

Do you see drive 1 in Windows Explorer?

Right click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the Hardware Tab.
Click Device Manager.
If necessary, expand Disk Drives.
Any red or yellow icons?
Right click the drive.
Click properties.
Read what's in the Device status box.
