Help when i try to import a .avi video....

when i try to import an avi video into windows movie maker i get the error
that says The file C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\YES! IT WORKS.avi is not
indexed and cannot be imported. Help please!

MM does not work with all avi files, avi is a wrapper only and contains many
different types, such as dv-avi from camcorders - works, divx a common web
d/l file - doesn't work.
If it is a dv-avi you could run the utility
windows media file editor, comes with encoder 9 and re-index the file.
