Help!! When I open an Excel doc, all other docs open and crashes

Big trouble over here!! I am running Excel 2000 and when I go to open a file,
all of my Excel files open and I get error messages. Usually about fifty
windows are open at once with error messages for each one. I've tried
reinstalling about 3 times with no luck. For some reason, it tries to open
all of my documents and the error messages I get are "File not recognized
format," "File could not be found," Not a valid format, etc. This haappens
when I open Excel and if I try to open a document. Please help. Thanks!

Open Excel.

Wait for al the files to open.
Then go to tools, options, general and remove the entry after "Alternate startup
file location", Excel tries to open all files in that folder.
