Help: webpages stop loading and unable to download

R

Reinder

I noticed a few days ago that some webpages stop loading:
e.g. "4 items remaining..". It doesn't apply to all
webpages: most of them load perfectly. But when I try to
download a file, it doesn't work either: the message I
get is that IE is unable to find the site of the site is
unavailable....
I used several antivirus software to scan my system, and
also used ad-aware. But the problems remain. What can I
do about it?? I use Windows XP home.

Thanks, but the problem remains.... I Have IE 6, and the
problem associated with the page not loading completely
is that I also am unable to download any file from any
site. Whenever the browser tries to find the downlaod
site, it doesn't succeed and gives a message that the
site is unavailable or not found

Hi,
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK

Possibly your cache folder is corrupt:

Open Regedit to the following locations:
Verify the entries are correct: ("1803"=dword:00000000)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\3]
"1803"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\3]
"1803"=dword:00000000

Value Data: (0 = downloads enabled, 3 = downloads disabled)
Edit as needed, however always Export before editing.
