Help ! Want to transfer this movie to DVD

Hey y'all to everyone.....Help !! I am not nearly as experienced as the rest of you it seems so I hope my question doesn't sound too lame. I have made a Movie of app. 600 photos ( along with titles, credits & 10 songs) I have scanned for my sister in-laws wedding gift. I want to put this from my MM2 onto a DVD+R so we can view this at the event in 2 weeks. I don't want to screw this up, or save it and find out I did it wrong and then not be able to redo it.

I have put in some serious blood, sweat & hundreds of tears into this project - any/all help is so very welcome. Please respond

Cool - sounds like a great gift.

First, go to the file menu and "Save Movie" - save it out as a DV-AVI or as
a WMV.

DV-AVI is the highest quality but also the files are HUGE - so be sure you
have 13GB free space if your movie is an hour long vs 1 GB for an hour long
WMV.

Next - Run whatever DVD burning software came with your DVD player, and
import the AVI file (most newer ones take WMV too - but you never know until
you check) (You probably have MyDVD or Ulead or Nero or something)

Burn away.

Hi Tiffany,

He means the DVD software that came with your DVD burner on your computer.
Most CD and DVD burners have the software bundled with them to be able to
use them.

I figured, while I waited for a response I could do the first part of your message and wait for clarification on the rest. And lo and behold I recieved this stupid warning.... Could not save movie. Verify that the original source files are still available, Verify Saving location still available Make sure there is enough disk space available and try again.

I verified the first 2. Nothing has moved or changed ( I had that happen midway through & had to redo 200 pics -- I didn't make that mistake again) The location I want to save is still there & empty ( have never added anything to that area before. and last but not least When I changed it to DV-AVI the estimated space needed was 14013.75 MB and the available hard drive space is 37.90 GB. So unless I am mistaken I should have plenty of space left. Sooooo frustrated. Thanks for letting me vent. Any suggestions now ?

There's a number of things it could be. See the Problem Solving > Can't Save
a Movie page of my site.

With a project as big as yours, it might just be the overall complexity....
check your ability to save a small movie (a couple minutes) in both WMV and
DV-AVI formats.

Sorry, meant to say "...came with your DVD burner" - but my hands and brain
are a few feet apart and the signal must not be getting through clearly...

PapaJohn can read my mind thankfully.

Some of the DVD software can be downloaded and used in a trial period....
maybe that's your next step until you know what software you want.

I have links on each of the pages in the DVD Software section of my site.
Sonic, ULead and TMPGEnc are good brands (that doesn't mean that the others
are not), but I don't know which ones offer the free trial period.... I see
that ULead does.
