Help!!! Want to Edit movie on DVD

Hello listners!

I do not have dvd camcorder to transfer movie on computer. just got this dvd
of vacation of my brother. Can I transfer this movie in MM2 using any
software?
I hope somebody can guide me in the right direction.

you need to convert it to avi or wmv first, google for a programme to do it.

Assuming you have a DVD drive on your computer you just need to download or
purchase a DVD ripping program. Nero will do this job for you and there are
many others out there.

There are a number of free converters to AVI

If you want to go to wmv format then Windows Media Encoder is the way to
go. Note: This has given me a number of problems in PAL mode (I'm in
Australia) so I generally use the AVI conversion.

I can go for Nero. which version of Nero would you recommand that can change
the VOB format into a DVI (to edit into MM) and after editing burn it back
on a dvd.

The newest version of Nero is 6.6 and it will do everything you are looking
to do.
I don't use Nero too much except for burning data DVD's but if you run into
any snags using the program John Kelly is the resident Nero guy.
