Hi, My PC recently keeps rebooting and data missing due
to such reboots. Error msg are:

c:\\windows\minidump\mini122903-08.dmp
c:\~documen~\pg\locals~1\temp\wer18.tmp.dir00/sysdata.xml

How to resolve? I tried the advise to clean up for
MSBlasterWorm with various sites' advice but scan say no
virus found!

Yet pc still problematic. System Restor using XP still
doesn't work (unable to restore).

Please advise - you can email me direct too.

Thanks

How to resolve? I tried the advise to clean up for

Level 1: System reboots for hardware reasons...
- bad mains power
- loose mains cables
- bad power supply unit
- some needed power connections not made (e.g. for P4)
- other hardware issues, e.g. overheating

Level 2: System reboots because of general system errors...
- this is a duhfault MS setting in XP
- Control Panel, System, Advanced, UNcheck the relevant setting

Level 3: System reboots because a service fails
- most likely RPC service, when Lovesan etc. attempt intrusion
- again, an MS duhfault setting is involved
- Recovery tab in RPC service Properties; set to "restart service"
- note; this DoS effect happens even when you are NOT infected
- so, fix the RPC hole!!

Level 4: Something commands your system to reboot
- formal virus check to exclude malware, esp. RATs
- check out who has "remote admin" access to PC
- check Tasks
