Help: Upgrade-task (repair-mode) stops after the first 25%!!

Hi there,
For some reason, I decided to perfom such repair mode.
At first, no problem...until I reached the 3rd process-step
"Preparing installation". Now, at this stage the PC is
required to reboot (for the first time) and that's where my
trouble starts: My CD-ROM Drive (where the XP-CD is
located) seems to be no longer recognized afterwards!
Indeed, I get the following message: "Insert the CD
Windows XP into your CD-ROM Drive and press
ENTER when ready." Of course, needless to state
that I didn't remove this CD and if I do click ENTER,
nothing will happen either (!!).
And do note that I also tried to insert the CD into my
Burner-Unit...same result...
But strangely enough, it works during the first stage;
ie. no problem to start this XP-CD from my CD-ROM
Drive and to perform the first two install-steps; though.
So any valid tips would be now very highly appreciated;
thanks a lot in advance!
Bye, Philippe.

At the "Insert the CD..." message, simply try opening the CD tray, then
closing it & hitting "Enter" when you hear the CD spin up. I have a computer
with the same symptoms & that solved it. BTW: the program may proceed on its
own after the drive spins up.
