Dear all,

I have a Windows 2000 system which is actually get stuck during the boot
process of windows 2000. What I mean during boot process is at the time you
get the Windows 2000 professional screen and the blue status bar which is
moving when activity goes on.

At this phase the stauts bar stop at 50 percent...

What is the way to identify what is causing that situation ?
Thanks for your help

Regards
Serge

I've got the same problem!!! 11 blue squares on the
progress bar and it freezes too!!

I had thought that the problem was intermittent (maybe 2
or 3 out of ten boot attempts, but now I don't seem to
get a normal start up.

I have all the latest windows updates applied.

I am able to boot in safe mode.

boot from CD and run the repair option, I would suggest run
the fast repair first up

If this does not resolve the problem perhaps there is a
hardware issue, try re seating all cards and memory, check
all cable connections (have you been in the case lately or
shifted the pc around - does not take much sometimes)

good luck

Geoff
