HELP - Stubborn computer not talking to rest of network

Having trouble with one of our computers on the home network. Here's what
we've got:

Six computers in all, and a wireless network set up. Two desktops are wired
into the router; three laptops and a desktop all wireless. All are connecting
to the Internet just fine.

However, the newest laptop is not talking to the other computers on the
network. When going through My Network Places, it appears, but when you click
on it, it won't open. And you cannot reach any of the other computers from
the new laptop.

The new laptop is running XP Home, as is two of the other computers. (Two
are running ME, one Windows 2000). No firewalls in place. I have gone into
the Network Properties of the new laptop and enabled file sharing, etc. Still
nothing doing.

What should I try now?

Networking a mixed LAN - some computers running Windows 2000 / XP, others
running Windows ME - is going to be a challenge.

Look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config
workstation", from the Windows XP / 2000 computers, and diagnose the problem.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely
(download browstat!):
