Help, my son who is my computer support is on vacation and I need help now...
I'm beginning to dislike Vista... This is the second problem I've had with
Vista... All the emails I try to send go to my Outbox instead of being
sent... I've checked with the persons that I'm emailing and they don't get
the emails... I've tried sending the emails from the outbox but no luck...
Hope someone can help me... Hope I picked the right Discussion Group...

Open windows Mail, At the top of the screen select Tools, then the tab
att he top that says Send....make sure "Send Messages Immediately" box
is checked....then hit Apply and then OK........

Jim, This is all so new to me, but here goes... "Send Messages Immediately" are not one of my choices... The only choices that come up are:
"only send and
receive All"
"Receive All"
"Send All"
"Comcast (Default)"
None are checked and when I try it doesn't work???

Thanks Cal Bear 66

I'm going to pass all the suggestions I've been getting and pass them unto
my husband when he get home tonight... He's a little bit better at this then
I am... I printed out Steve Cochran's instructions... Hopefully it works... I
now wish I didn't go with Vista on my new laptop, I old one was O.K. for
new...

You probably have Windows Live mail, go to Tools, Options, Send, and check
Send messages immediately, OK

Hey Ray,

Your right, but it's already checked but I hit O.K. anyway... Then tried to
send an email and it went right to my outbox... You know I never get the
message back that it doesn't go to the emailed contact... I only know this
because I call them on the phone to check if they got it... Could this be my
provider's problem???

Me again,

Are you using Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail (look at the title bar in the
upper left corner of the window)?

This really sounds like a very, very common problem with WINDOWS MAIL and
Steve's utility will fix you up. Just be sure to read and follow the
instructions carefully.

Hey Cal,

It says Window Mail... Called my son at the Outer Banks (what 20 year likes
when his Mom calls with a computer question while he's on vacation Ha-Ha),
says we do have Window Mail, he also had me see if "immediately send" was
checked and it is...

He's a little concerned that I'll be won't be able to follow Steve Cockran
utility program, so I think I'll let my husband do it... Then Mom's off the
hook if something gets messed up... I think go walk the dog to clear my
head!!!

Tough luck for your son... 20-somethings should be elated to help their Mom.

Anyway, the main things to remember about Steve's utility are (1) both files
extracted from the downloaded zip MUST be in the same folder, (2)Windows Mail
MUST be closed, and, (3) if any buttons are grayed out, close the utility, right
click on the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen, select Task Manager, press
Processes tab, scroll down to MinMail.exe, highlight it and click the End
Process button, then restart the utility.

Vista will grow on you and soon you won't even remember how you did things in
XP.

Hey Cal,

Yup, to be in my twenties again... Much better after that long walk...
Thanks for all your help I'm going pass all onto my husband tonight,
hopefully he'll get it fixed, if not, it will have to wait until the
weekend... I may have to use that old invention called the telephone...

Catch you later
PAcheryl
