Help! Shortcut stops working...

Hi - Just updated XP pro with SP1a and all
other "critical" updates. Strange thing now happens -
Shortcuts to network drives using UNC paths don't work
from within toolbars.

Try this quick test -
- Create a shortcut on desktop to \\machine\share
- Run it from desktop - works fine
- Drag (move) shortcut to Quick Launch toolbar (or any
other toolbar) and run it - fails with "Problem with
shortcut" message - (The drive or network connection ...
is unavailable)
- Drag it back to the desktop, works fine again

This started after updates were applied. Shortcuts to
local drives still work fine in toolbar. (Running XP Pro
in a domain environment - logged on with Admin rights
(both locally and for domain)).

Hi Bob,

This may relate, can't say for sure, as I can't test your environment:
If you have 821557 installed, remove it, if not install it.
