William

I was undergoing a complete reinstall of my OS. During
the previous install on my newly built machine I
specificaly remeber Windows XP Pro found my SCSI adapter
(Adaptec 2906) and then proceded to automaticly install
it, I know this because: It prompted me with a dialog box
saying "New Hardware found! SCSI..." I didnt have to do a
thing and I had the drive availble on My Computer. The
drive that requires the SCSI adapter is a CD Writer, it
was very "awesome that I was able to burn right from
Windows Explorer without installing a thing for it. Now
when I did the fresh reinstall of Windows XP Pro I get a
whole mess of questions and what not for installing this
hardware. It never asked me to do a thing to install it
before, but now it is running in circles in a sence.
Anyone know why this is? And where can I get an XP driver
for it? The Windows 2000 driver does not work. Also back
during the previous instal I looked at the Adapters
details in Hardware Manger and I think it was labled
slightly diff from the actual name, something like AHA-
????, but never the less it doesnot work for beans now.

Help I'm drowning,

Will, Los Angeles

AHA indicates that the SCSI card ia a 'Adaptec Host Adapter".

I would first head over to www.adaptec.com, since Adaptec made the SCSI
adapter.
