HELP! Screen Resolution PROBLEM!

Brian

Ok. Got a question. I setup a computer with XP for my
brother using my 19" monitor. He got it but only has a
14" monitor capable of only 800x600 resolution. I set it
to 1024x768 when I was setting everything up. Now, when
he boots up after the XP splash Screen, the screen goes
black. How can i adjust the screen resolution from safe
mode so i can talk him through it on the phone????
PLEASE, PLEASE, any assistence would be greatly
appreciated!

Just go into Safe Mode and change the resolution. Boot the system, start
tapping F8, when the menu appears, select Safe Mode and press enter. The
resolution won't be 1024x768 in Safe Mode and should be well within the
tolerances of the monitor.

Thanks for the advise, however in safe mode it will not
allow me to change the resolution below 1024x786. Any
suggestions?

In Safe Mode, Display Properties> Settings> Advanced> Adapter> Check the
box to List All Modes.
