Screen resolution drops when I switch to slide show view

I run windows XP pro and have PPT 2002. Everything's worked perfectly for 2
yrs.

I think I mistakenly did something to the monitor settings and now everytime
I switch to slide show view in PPT, the resolution drops from my normal res
of 1024x768 to 800x600.As soon as I click end show, the resolution goes back
up to 1024x768, but now any open windows are smaller and need to be
restreched to fill the screen.

When I go into display settings its set at 1024x768 which is what I want.
My monitor is a Dell Radeon X300 monitor

Its driving me crazy ....
Please help !!

Check in slide show > set up show that your slide show res is set to 1024x768

Click "Slide Show" in the menu then "Setup Show". Do you have it set to 800
x 600? (Lower part of the dialog pane.)
