HELP!!! Saving pics off the web trouble

ok, whenever i go to a graphics page and want to save a pic and i click "save
as" the pics are only saving under the formats "bmp" and "Png" and it won't
give me any other formats to save the pic. It use to save them as "jpegs" and
now i don't know what happened. Can someone please help me fix this?????

You can only save the images that they are in. Evidently you're going to sites that have those formats. To change the format of an image (.bmp to .jpg) you would need a third pard app, such as IrfanView:

ok, I have done everything everyone has told me and what i have been reading
to do and nothing has changed. The only thing is under
Mycomputer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT under Name it says-Default Type-REG_SZ and under
Data-Jpeg file and that's it. Does that sound right?
I wish i could get someone to remotely connect to my computer and check this
out for me. I have been spending hours trying to fix this with no luck :-(
