Help: Save Picture As ....

T

Tom_0127

When I try to save a picture on a web page by right-clicking the picture,
and then clicking "Save Picture As", the "Save as type" drop down menu
shows BMP as the only possible format to save the picture as. It used to
give me many more options (like jpeg, for example), but I don't see those
options any more. Any help as to why this has happened? Thanks.

Clear the Temporary Internet Files. In IE>Tools>Internet Options>
Delete Files button. And check the box to Delete Offline content.

I tried that Bruce, but the symptoms are the same. BMP is listed as the
only possible filetype when I try to save a picture.

If you didn't, reboot and try. If still no joy, we'll have to wait for a
suggestion from someone else. That's the only fix I know of.

If the image is on a page reached by a secure https:// connection,
Go to Tools>Internet Options> Advanced tab> see if "Do not save encrypted

That happens when the Temporary Internet Files are too full. In IE click
Tools | Internet Options. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet
files section of the General tab. On the next window place a check mark in
the box to Delete all offline content.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced and scroll
down to the Security section. Uncheck "Do not save encrypted pages to
disk".

Click Start/Run and type this command to fix the 'Content Type' settings:

regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll
(and/or)
regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll (for WinXP)
