HELP! RUNTIME LIB. ERROR

Every now and then (usualy when I need to open an urgently required file or
something similar) I get the following message:
Visual C ++ Runtime Library
Prog:C\Programe files\Common files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe
Abnormal programme termination

Can anyone out there help???????? I`m going crazy trying to get round this.
It`s affecting me when trying to update/download new anti-virus updates.
