if I have my start menu set to "windows classic" the help,
run and search commands come up just fine but if I use the
other start menu option, I have these three commands on my
menu but when I click them, nothing happens. They did
work, don't know when they stopped working. I have
TweakUI and tried repairing icons. They are checked on
the start menu tab. Any ideas.
thanks

These are both from Kelly's Korner. I have never had to try them myself.

1. Restore the Run Command (Line 57)

2. Search - Doesn't Work
Open Explorer and go to the Windows\Inf folder. Locate the srchasst.inf
file. Right click it and select Install. You'll need your XP CD or the files
from the I386 folder. (This fix will require you to have your Win XP CD).

The Windows\Inf folder is a hidden folder. You can adjust your Explorer
Folder Options (View tab) to Show hidden files and folders. You can also
click Start, Run and enter %SystemRoot%\Inf to open directly to the Inf
folder
