Help! Repost: still TOC trouble

Instead of getting page numbers, I'm getting this code when I try to generate
my TOC in a ~100-pg document:

{ PAGEREF_Toc111145982 \h }

This is after toggling field codes, without which all I get for a TOC is:

{ TOC \o \u }

I've never had this trouble before. Can anyone help???

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Field
codes" box | Print | uncheck the "Field codes" box | OK.
