Help re PP 2000 slide show re-start

I have a friend making Powerpoint 2000 presentation tomorrow and he wants to
stop the show then display a different PP presentation then restart the
first one at the slide at which he stopped.

He tells me he can do this without a problem on his Windows desktop using
Shift F5 but Shift F5 on his laptop does nothing. If he uses F5 instead the
PP slideshow starts from the beginning which is not acceptable.

Can anyone help

Shift+F5 works in PowerPoint 2003 and later versions. For PowerPoint 2000,
you can use the "Slide Show" button in the bottom left corner of the
PowerPoint window - it is the right-most among the 5 little buttons there.
