After doing a Windows Update and obligatory reboot the "My Computer" icon did not appear on the desk top. I have made a short cut but I would like to get the proper icon back: how do I do it?
Right click desktop, properties, desktop tab, customize, set as you like.

Try going to ControlPanel/Display/Desktop and click on the Customise Desktop
and make sure the 'My Computer' icon is checked.

Which Update? Right click on the Desktop, select Properties and the Desktop tab. Click on 'Customise Desktop' and then enable My Computer.

Will Denny,
The Update was Windows Hotfix KB822603.
I have followed your help with Customise Desktop and I have got the default icon back.
Thank you all for your help
