Donna

When my Windows Live Messenger starts up, normally a blue figure with a green
box denoting that I am signed in displays in my task bar.
For the past two days, a black box has been there, saying when I click on it
that I am not signed in, although I am. I am missing the normail WLM 2009
version icon that apears, and I cannot get it back, even when I get new mail.

I run Windows XP pro, and IE 8.

How can I make this black box disappear and return to the
normail WLM signed in figure???

Hello,

See if Jonathan's advice helps
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.messenger/msg/55fcf63784f5fda7

Have you tried restart your system?

Next try a Repair install of Windows Live Essentials by going to Start >
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

If it still fails, you can do a System Restore to a point where the problem
was not there
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 on how to do this
