Hi,

I am trying to start a database using the time and billing database template
for access 2003. I have clients who have projects, sometimes just one
project and sometimes more per client. Then I have my employees who work on
those projects, several different projects at one time and several different
employees on one project at the same time. How do i relate these tables so
that i can enter the time card hours and have it distributed to the proper
clients project? And can u tell me about subdatasheets and if those could be
helpful to me to accompolish what i am trying to do.
Thank You--
Monique

How do i relate these tables so that i can enter the time card hours and
have it distributed to the proper clients project?
Do not try to have the software spreading hours worked.
The PROPER way would be for the employee to have a record per day per
project and enter the amount of time spend on that project. The project
identification would always be related to the client.

I downloaded the template and look at it. Looking at the forms and tables, It
appears to already do everything you are asking about.

If you are asking about the property in the table deisgn, I never use them. I
tun them off. Since I never let a user enter data directly into a table, I
turn them off to help the performance of Access.

Hope this helps ...

Thank you for the help but I want you to realize that this is very new to me
so if i sound like a real dummy it is because i am to this particular
application. I understand that the project identification would always be
related to the client that is the way i understand everything. I guess what
i want to make sure of is that I will be able to have more than one employee
to the project and be able to record all of their daily hours per project?
And if so how would I and what tables would i show a relation too. Please
understand that you may need to actually spell this information out to me
because I can not catch on that quick for some reason with this darn program.
Thank you
