help please

I just bought an mp3 player and you should just plug it into the usb port and
be able to put songs on it from my mp3 folder. I plug it in but nothing
happens...the window that is supposed to open doesn't. I tried it on a
friends computer and the window popped right up. why can't I get mine to
work? I hear a noise like it's blocked or something. I really want to add
songs to my mp3 player can anyone help me with this???

you mean the "autoplay" window that starts the application??

Maybe....the instruction book just said to plug in the mp3 player to the usb
port and a "removable disk" window will automatically pop up on my computer
screen and then I can add songs ... nothing pops up on my screen...it just
makes a little ping noise and nothing happens....when I plugged it into my
friends computer who also has Windows XP the window opened.

cant you access this via windows explorer or my computer??
