Help Please...many changes in my image files info

I take photographs and used to be able to view file information of my images like size (eg: 640x480). For some reason it has changed and now I can only view - Type, Date, Size in KB's. No matter how often I check off the size/dimensions in customizing it will not show it. I make 2-3 sizes for different reasons and now it's a problem for choosing the right one. I also can't view any information in properties for my original off the camera shots??

At the same time this change occurred, I also found that now when I view it large in the 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' and click on the icon for 'closing this and opening in my editing program', it doesn't go to my Adobe PS, but to another dialogue box where once again I have to choose to edit it in Adobe. Now it's a number of clicks rather than automatically opening it in Adobe

Hope I've explained it correctly, would Really Appreciate any Help or Advice you could give me

Thank You
Caro

To see your image file size in pixels again, do the following.
Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the opening textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press Enter
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...

If you wish to view your images in the Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer but have Adobe Photo Shop open when
you click the "Opens The Image For Editing" button,
the following instructions may be useful.....

How to open your choice of image editors when
clicking the Edit button on the Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer screen.

OK...go to...Start / Run and type in..."regedit" without the
quotes. Then click...OK...or press...Enter.

In the Registry Editor...drill down to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\shell\edit\command

In the Data column you should see:

"%systemroot%\system32\mspaint.exe" "%1"

(where you see *mspaint* in the example....you will see
your current default)

Replace the key with the path to the program that will
be your default image editor. I wanted Picture It! 7 so
the following is what I changed to.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Picture It! 7\pip.exe" "%1"

Now, my images still open in the Picture and Fax viewer
but if I left click the Edit button...Picture It! 7 opens.

Good luck.
