help please: issues with Asus A7N266 using Samsung 512 PC3200 DDR400

can anyone think of any reason why my (Asus A7N266) mb won't work
properly with my new (Samsung PC3200 512Mb DDR400) RAM sticks?

it works fine with the old 256Mb elixir PC2100 stick but when I take
that out and put both PC3200 sticks in, it crashes my system when I
run a video clip

I tried each stick seperately in various slots and that was even worse
with errors on my desktop background images

it wouldn't boot up at all with all 3 sticks in it

I reset the BIOS defaults but there doesn't seem to be anything
helpful to adjust in there

I don't usually read this ng but thought I'd see if anyone was
willing/able to help

thanks in advance

Bad RAM, compatibility issue, power issue (more ram= more power draw). What
make is your PSU?
Latest BIOS is ver 1005.005 beta (there could be trouble reading and using
SPD data correctly, therefore try latest)
There is an option to set RAM voltage to 2,7 by jumper. Try that as well.

Very strange that this should make matters worse.

This one is OK. The board only supports a total of 5 "memory sides", what
you are attempting here is 6. See manual.

Also try to browse through forums at www.nforcershq.com.

Thanks for the response!

I don't know if the issues are resolved completely but at least it's
not crashing windows when I run a video clip since I turned off the
video acceleration in WMP.

I should probably get a newer mb and/or video card... but if this
holds me for a few months I'll be happy.

Do you use integrated video? Then which driver do you use? Do you use latest
set of unified nforce drivers?
You might to turn off things like "fastwrites" and "sidebanding". Try
adjusting "AGP aperture size".
