Help Please: Could not log onto WinXP

D

David

Hi,

I tried several times to login to Windows XP. When I started WinXP,
everthing was fine until I clicked the button to access my account
from the blue screen. After a while, Windows logged me off
automatically. This happened for all other users' accounts. How do I
fix this problem please? Yesterday, I used anti-spyware programs. Did
it remove any critical programs from WinXP?

Many Thanks,
David

I've seen that happen with SuperAntispyware, which one did you use? Boot
into safe mode and do a system restore.

The anti-spyware changed the name of a startup file. When it is
uninstalled, that file name is not changed back. I re-installed
windows XP. Everything is fine now.

thanks,
David

Which AntiSpyware was it? What is the name of it? Was it SuperAntispyware? I
can't get it fixed if it is not.

I have a similar problem. I used Spybot yesterday and now when I login, to
any account, it starts to load preferences and then automatically logs off.

I've tried booting in "safe mode" and "safe mode with last known good
settings" but it still tries to load XP with the same results. Booting from
cd-rom hasn't worked either (including after changing the boot sequence).

This is a Dell computer with pre-installed Windows XP Home Ed, updated to SP3.

Any ideas?
