HELP please attaching case USB2 and Firewire to motherboard

Hi: I got some terrific answers today to a different installation
problem, so I thought I'd try again.

I am installing a Soyo Dragon 6000 Ultra Platinum motherboard in a
Coolermaster Wave Master case. I don't understand the schematic for
plugging in the chassis firewire, USB2 and audio wires.

1. USB2: The motherboard has two separate places to plug in USB2
wires. Each of the two places has two rows of prongs; one row has four
prongs while the second row has five prongs. However, the case wires
that I think are the USB2 wires have only one row of holes each. (The
five-hole USB2 case wire has red, black, blue, and white wiring, while
the four-hole USB2 case wire has orange, red, brown, and black wiring.
My question is: DO BOTH CASE WIRES GO INTO A SINGLE MOTHERBOARD USB2
PLACE, WITH THE FIVE-HOLE WIRE GOING INTO THE FIVE-PRONG ROW, AND THE
FOUR-HOLE WIRE GOING INTO THE FOUR-HOLE ROW?

2. Firewire: The thick black case wire that I take to be the firewire
case wire has two rows of holes: five holes in one row and four holes
in the other. The row with four holes covers over the LAST HOLE at the
end of the row. The problem here is that the motherboard firewire
place, which has five prongs in one row and four prongs in the second,
deletes one of the MIDDLE PRONGS in the four-prong row, not the LAST
PRONG.

3. On the thick black case wire--on the end that is closest to the
firewire and USB2 ports--there is a loose wire that looks like a
grounding wire. Is that supposed to be attached to anything?

Thank you

Red=+5volts, Black = ground, Blue is usually +signal, white is usually
-signal

Red = +5Volt, black = Ground, orange = +signal, brown = -signal

1.
USB connectors on the Mainboards often have 5 wires, with a 'case'
ground, plus a signal ground, so that two of the five pins have the same
potential.

The other pins are +5V, +sigA(or, +usb1), -sigA(or, -usb1) on the one
row, and +5v, +sigB(or, +usb2), -sigB(or, -usb2) on the other row.

YOU NEED TO CONFIRM THE PIN_OUTS in your mainboard manual (also, most
manuals are on-line in .pdf format!). The USB pin-outs can be any of
about 3 different configurations depending upon the manufacturer, and
the date of assembly.

2.
DITTO for the Firewire, although, Pin 3 that is missing could be a
parallel ground to the case ground, but the board was intended to be
used in cases with the separate connector on the end of each wire, and
you would be able to correctly apply the wires to the right pins...
AGAIN, you NEED to check your motherboard manual!

AND, I recommend a search of http://google.com for USB wiring, and
Firewire Standards, etc.

3. Perhaps, and perhaps NOT! Does it have a ring connector, or a
straight push-on connector? Look for a missing screw on the ground
trace around the 'board', or, an empty pin on the USB/firewire connector
'board' in the case, (depending upon the type of connector you have!)
aaaand, read the case literature, or, the maker's website. I'd hook the
rest up and if something doesn't work, then I would suspect that the
ground is supposed to be connected! Want to be careful to NOT ground
out the +5Volt or any signals!
HTH!
