Help! Passwords not remembered and Newsgroup Tools/Maintenence not working

The system always requires me to enter passwords for E-Mail, and Newsgroups.
I have checked the box(s) for "Remember Password".

Also Tools/Maintenence/Cleanup does not respond to message body and Header
cleanup commands.
 
This fix applies to Outlook and other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and Autocomplete.

Try the following web sites for troubleshooting suggestions:

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Line #48. In the right-hand window, click on
"Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it.
(Note: Disable your antivirus program before running the repair script)
