Whenever I connect using Outlook Express, within a few seconds I receive the
following error message:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'mail.bigplanet.com', Server: 'SMTP.bigplanet.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

This problem began about a week ago intermittently, and now occurs every
time. it doesn't matter if I use a phone modem or high speed wireless to
connect to the Internet.

I've worked with technical support for my internet service provider, and
they found no problem. I stay connected to the Internet fine. I just can't
send or receive messages after just a few seconds.

Any suggestions?

Yes, I suggest that you ask the question in an Outlook Express newsgroup.
This newsgroup addresses usability issues with MS Office Outlook.
